ライブ／レクチャー／ハンズオン！ ブックラ三昧で過ごす日曜日の午後
ロバート・モーグと並ぶシンセ界のパイオニア＝ドン・ブックラ。1963年に発表したBuchla 100は、既存の楽器の模倣ではなくあくまで電子音楽の演奏を目的に開発され、先鋭的なアーティストから熱い支持を集めます。Moogの減算合成とは異なる発想の「コンプレックスオシレーター→ローパスゲート」による加算合成は、彼がサンフランシスコを拠点としていたため“西海岸系”と呼ばれ、現代のモジュラーシンセシーンにも大きな影響を与えています。
2016年にドン・ブックラが亡くなった後もBuchlaは現行の200eシリーズに意欲的なモジュールを追加し続け、さらには2024年に“Modern”と“Retro”というMusic Easelの2つの最新バージョンもリリースし、新しいユーザーを獲得しています。
そんなBuchla製品の魅了を多くの人に体験していただくため、3月9日（日）「Sunday afternoon with Buchla」と題したイベントを開催します。Music Easelや200eシリーズのレクチャーやライブ、さらにはビンテージの200シリーズによる演奏を交えつつ、現行のBuchla製品をじっくりと触っていただく一日となります。また、会場ではBuchla関連製品を展示、割引価格で販売予定です。この貴重な機会をぜひお見逃し無く！
Live/lecture/hands-on! Sunday afternoons spent in Buchla glory
Don Buchla, a pioneer in the synth world alongside Robert Moog, released the Buchla 100 in 1963, which was developed not to imitate existing instruments, but to play electronic music, and attracted the enthusiastic support of cutting-edge artists. The additive synthesis of ‘Complex Oscillator -> Low Pass Gate’, which is different from Moog's subtractive synthesis, is called ‘West Coast style’ because he was based in San Francisco, and has had a major influence on the modern modular synthesis scene.
After Don Buchla's death in 2016, Buchla continued to add ambitious modules to the current 200e series, and in 2024 also released the two latest versions of the Music Easel, ‘Modern’ and ‘Retro’, to attract new users.
To enable as many people as possible to experience the fascination of Buchla products, an event entitled ‘Sunday afternoon with Buchla’ will be held on Sunday 9 March, featuring lectures and live performances of the Music Easel and 200e series, as well as vintage 200 series instruments. The event will include lectures and live performances of the Music Easel and 200e series, as well as a performance by the vintage 200 series, and a chance to get up close and personal with current Buchla products. 長嶌寛幸（Dowser）
東京藝術大学大学院映像研究科 映画専攻 サウンドデザイン領域 教授
大学在学中に石井聰亙監督の映画音響ライブ・リミックスを行った事がきっかけで、メディアを問わず多数の作品の音楽、音響を手掛けるようになる。主な映画作品には石井聰亙『エンジェル・ダスト』、大友克洋『メモリーズ エピソード3～大砲の街』、青山真治『エリ・エリ・レマ・サバクタニ』、万田邦敏『接吻』、篠崎誠『SHARING』、高橋洋『恐怖』、濱口竜介『The Depths』、『2018年平昌パラリンピック公式映画』などがある。また、電子音楽グループ『Dowser』としての活動も行っている。
Hiroyuki Nagashima (Dowser)
Professor, Graduate School of Film and New Media, Tokyo University of the Arts. While a university student, Nagashima performed live sound remixes for director Sogo Ishii (Gakuryu Ishii) which led to his involvement in music and sound for numerous films in all media. Major film works include Sogo Ishii's “Angel Dust”, Katsuhiro Otomo's “Memories” Episode 3: Cannon City, Shinji Aoyama's “Eli Eli Lema Sabachthani ?”, Kunitoshi Manda's “The Kiss”, Makoto Shinozaki's “Sharing”, Hiroshi Takahashi's “Kyofu(Fear)”, Ryusuke Hamaguchi's “The Depths” and the 2018 Pyeongchang Paralympics Official Film, among others. He also works as an electronic music group “Dowser”.
蓮沼執太
1983年、東京都生まれ。蓮沼執太フィルを組織して、国内外での音楽公演をはじめ、多数の音楽制作を行う。また「作曲」という手法を応用し物質的な表現を用いて、彫刻、映像、インスタレーション、パフォーマンスなどを制作する。主な個展に「Compositions」（Pioneer Works 、ニューヨーク/ 2018）、「 ～ ing」（資生堂ギャラリー、東京 / 2018）などがある。また、近年のプロジェクトやグループ展に「Someone’s public and private / Something’s public and private」（Tompkins Square Park 、ニューヨーク/ 2019）、「FACES」(SCAI PIRAMIDE、東京 / 2021)など。第69回芸術選奨文部科学大臣新人賞を受賞。最新アルバムに『unpeople』（2023）。2月にオリジナルEP『+1P EP』（2025）をリリース。
Hasunuma Shuta
Born 1983, Tokyo. Organises the Hasunuma Shuta Philharmonic Orchestra and produces numerous music productions, including musical performances in Japan and abroad. He also creates sculptures, videos, installations and performances using material expressions based on the technique of composition. Major solo exhibitions include “Compositions” (Pioneer Works, New York / 2018) and “~ing” (Shiseido Gallery, Tokyo / 2018). Recent projects and group exhibitions include “Someone's public and private / Something's public and private” (Tompkins Square Park , New York / 2019) and “FACES” (SCAI PIRAMIDE, Tokyo / 2021). He received the 69th Art Encouragement Prize for New Artists from the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology. His latest album is“unpeople” (2023), and his original EP +1P EP (2025) was released in February.
金子雄樹
音楽家。過去に現代音楽レーベルSteinhandを主宰し、三輪眞弘、ヲノサトル、野村誠の作品をプロデュース。YK Rehabilitation名義でEMS Synthi AKSの即興演奏CD『EMS for ICU』(1999年/Kaeru Café）、3ピース・バンド全角の『反核』(2012)プロデュース、鈴木四郎康の現代詩を使ったCD『少女皮剥ぎ』(2013)をリリース。近年はバンドのプロデュースなども手掛ける
Yuki Kaneko
Musician. In the past, he ran the contemporary music label Steinhand and produced works by Masahiro Miwa, Satoru Wono and Makoto Nomura; under the name YK Rehabilitation, he produced the improvisation CD “EMS for ICU” (1999/Kaeru Café) by EMS Synthi AKS, the three-piece band Zenkaku's “Anti-Nuclear” (2012), and the CD “Shoujo Kawahagi (Girl Skinning)” (2013), using contemporary poetry by Shirouyasu Suzuki. In recent years, he has also produced bands

有限会社 福産起業にて、取扱製品の修理/サポート業務を主に受け持つ。ヴィンテージから最新製品まで、世界中の沢山の電子楽器に触れてきた経験があり、シンセサイザーの持つインターフェース・デザインが与える音楽と演奏への影響について強い興味を持ちます。レクチャーではシンセサイザー回路の歴史と技術、または作曲や演奏のための楽器として、Buchlaシンセサイザーの持つ2つの側面の関係を、独自の視点で紐解きます。
Ryo Hirai (Fukusan Kigyo Co., Ltd.)
Ryo Hirai works for Fukusan Kigyo Co., Ltd. , where he is mainly responsible for the repair and support of products handled by the company. He has experience with many electronic instruments from all over the world, from vintage to the latest products, and has a strong interest in the influence of synthesizer interface design on music and performance. In his lecture he will give a unique perspective on the history and technology of synthesis circuits and the relationship between the two aspects of the Buchla synthesizer as a musical instrument for composition and performance.
